Bishkek, March 11, 2026 /Kabar/. UNDP officially handed over the "Climate Box" educational and methodological kits in printed and electronic formats to the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the organization, the donated materials include school textbooks in Kyrgyz and Russian, educational game kits, and inclusive versions of the materials—in Easy-to-Read format and Braille. In addition, manuals and guides for teachers on extracurricular activities and project-based learning on climate change were donated.

"Integrating climate education into school education is a contribution to the country's security and sustainable development. The 'Climate Box' provides teachers with ready-made tools, and students with understandable knowledge and practical experience that foster a responsible attitude toward the environment and natural resources," said Almaz Toktomambetov, Director of the Republican Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Pedagogical Workers under the Ministry of Education and Science.

UNDP Resident Representative Alexandra Solovieva noted that climate education is an investment in the country's future. "By handing over the 'Climate Box' to the Ministry of Education, we are taking another step toward ensuring that every schoolchild in Kyrgyzstan understands how climate change impacts their lives and what decisions they can make today. It's especially important that the materials are accessible to all children, including those with disabilities, making climate education truly inclusive and modern," she said.
