Bishkek, 26.02.25. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, February 26, met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who is on a visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The press service of the president said that the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as interaction in the field of energy and transport logistics.
The head of state emphasized Kyrgyzstan's commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for resolving issues related to the supply of energy resources from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan.
The president noted the significant potential of transport and logistics cooperation between the countries and focused on the positive dynamics in trade and economic relations between the countries.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed readiness to cooperate within the framework of multilateral platforms to jointly counter challenges and threats.
Rashid Meredov expressed gratitude to the head of state for the warm welcome. The minister noted that the first state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenistan in 2021 was a very important stage in the process of promoting Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation in broad areas, where it was possible to discuss strategically important issues related to further building up the potential of partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in both political and trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
Rashid Meredov emphasized Turkmenistan's readiness to further deepen cooperation, noting that joint efforts will help strengthen fraternal and good-neighborly relations between the two states.
At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations will continue to develop on a solid foundation of strategic partnership.
