Bishkek, Feb. 26, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived in Bishkek at the head of the Turkmen delegation to hold bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkmen political consultations.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation in trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, energy and other most important areas and prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to organizing and holding upcoming bilateral events at the highest and high levels, building up the legal framework, as well as interaction within international organizations.
In this context, the ministers reviewed the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenistan (June 27-28, 2021).
Following the consultations the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries, Kulubaev and Meredov, signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for 2025-2026.
