Bishkek, Oct. 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with neighboring countries regarding customs control, the exchange of advance information, and the digitalization of procedures to accelerate the movement of goods and develop international trade routes. Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers told at the "Modern Customs" international forum.
According to him, agreements reached on state border issues, the opening of border crossings, and expanded trade opportunities are creating conditions to strengthen regional economic ties.
"We are convinced that borders should not merely demarcate territories but also create conditions for the lawful and safe movement of goods, the development of economic ties, and the strengthening of good-neighborly relations.
No country can fully realize its transit potential if its border procedures are not aligned with those of neighboring states. A trade route is effective only when its participants exchange necessary information, utilize compatible digital solutions, and trust each other's inspection results," said Daniyar Amangeldiev.
He emphasized the importance of fostering interaction between customs services, the business community, and other government agencies, as well as expanding electronic document management and implementing modern risk management mechanisms.
According to Amangeldiev, the primary criterion for the effectiveness of these reforms should be tangible results for entrepreneurs: clear rules, predictable timeframes, and a reduction in redundant administrative procedures.
"It is important for us not only to present solutions that have already been implemented but also to hear from those who work daily on our transport routes, encounter administrative barriers, and directly shape the country's economy. We hope that this dialogue will help identify priority issues and lead to practical proposals for further improving customs procedures," he noted.
