Bishkek, June 28, 2026. /Kabar/. A Kyrgyz-Afghan business forum was held in Bishkek, within the framework of which an agreement on the establishment of a Business Council between the two countries was signed, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported.
About 100 representatives of domestic business and heads of state bodies attended the meeting with the delegation led by the Chairman of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Syed Mohammad Karim Hashemi.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Temir Sariev, noted the need to supplement the historical neighborly relations with a new economic content.
According to the information, in recent years, positive dynamics have been observed in bilateral trade. For example, in 2024, Kyrgyzstan's exports to Afghanistan reached a record high, exceeding $50.4 million. In 2025, this figure amounted to $29.2 million.
During the forum, Afghan businessmen expressed particular interest in joint projects in the fields of trade, agriculture, construction and logistics. The established Business Council will further serve as a permanent platform for direct dialogue between business representatives, organization of business missions and promotion of major economic projects, the report said.
