Bishkek, June 29, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Salkyn Sarnogoeva met with Simon Mraz, head of the Austrian cultural delegation and Commissioner for Special Cultural Projects of the Department of Cultural Cooperation with Foreign Countries of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
The meeting took place on June 28 at the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan. The museum's deputy director, ethnographers, and representatives of both sides also attended.
According to the ministry, the participants discussed expanding cooperation in the museum sector and fostering exchanges between museum curators, artists, and relevant specialists. The parties also explored prospects for collaboration between the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan and the Weltmuseum in Vienna.
The ministry of culture noted that the Austrian cultural delegation's visit to Kyrgyzstan is taking place from June 22 to 29 as part of a project of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. It follows the visit of Kyrgyz museum directors to Vienna in June of this year and aims to develop long-term cultural cooperation for 2025–2028.
The ministry emphasized that the meeting will contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Austria, expanding inter-museum cooperation, and implementing new joint projects.
