Bishkek, April 1, 2026. /Kabar/. Major projects began in 2025, and their implementation will continue today. In particular, construction of the Bishkek bypass road continues. Asylbek Choibekov, head of the roads department of Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic told Kabar.

According to him, special attention will be paid to the construction of a road connecting Profsoyuznaya Street with the Northern Bypass Road, which will become the main route to the new Osh market.

Furthermore, this year's Independence Day celebrations in Kyrgyzstan will be held in the Talas region, so the development of the region's road infrastructure will be a priority.

"We also have projects planned for the SCO summit and the World Nomad Games. These include the construction of a bypass road around Cholpon-Ata, a highway to the Kyrchyn jailoo, the Karakol-Enilchek road, and roads to the Ala-Too Resort. Work in these areas will continue," the department head stated.

Choibekov also specifically noted the condition of the problematic Naryn-Baetovo highway in Naryn region. Special commission was established in March of this year to inspect the section, and preparations are now underway for the construction season. Work on this highway will be completed without fail this year.

"If we talk about the Naryn region's projects included in the capital investment list, then total of 100 km of roads in this region will be paved," he added.
