Kyrgyzstan expects large-scale development in construction industry in 2026

Bishkek, March 17, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan expects large-scale development in the construction industry in 2026. New schools, social and administrative facilities, infrastructure modernization, and the implementation of digital solutions are planned across the country.

According to ministry, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services intends to complete the construction of approximately 200 social facilities this year using the national budget. Ministry noted, their plan exceeds annually.

In 2026, 20 new schools are planned for construction in Bishkek, 10 in Osh, and 6 in Manas. Additionally, with the support of the Saudi Fund for Development, five more schools and seven educational buildings will be built in Bishkek, as well as two schools in the Chui region. Concurrently, previously begun social facilities will be completed.

Branches will open in the Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn regions, and repair and construction work will continue.

By Independence Day, August 31, the opening of the Balastan Children's Center in Talas is planned, along with the reconstruction of the Manas Ordo National Complex and the World of Chyngyz Aitmatov Historical and Cultural Complex.

"The digitalization of the construction industry will also continue: licensing, certification, and urban planning services will be completely transferred to an electronic format. Automated geographic information systems and urban planning projects will be implemented," the ministry emphasized. In addition, construction of modern administrative buildings and technical facilities is planned for 2026, as well as expanded capacity for testing building materials and quality control. State expert review and architectural and construction oversight will be strengthened, and measures will be taken to reduce the number of illegal construction projects.

Currently, 364 social and cultural facilities are under active construction in the country:

  • 222 are new construction projects;
  • 128 are major renovations;
  • 14 are clean water supply systems.

It is noted that the implementation of these projects will improve social infrastructure and enhance the quality of life by providing access to modern educational and cultural facilities throughout the country.
