Bishkek, May 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Large-scale nationwide program to train education and healthcare workers in the basics of personal data protection and cyber hygiene has been launched in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the State Agency for Personal Data Protection, the first training sessions were held on May 18 in Razzakov city and Daroot-Korgon village. The project is being implemented as a "digital caravan" that will cover all regions of the country, including remote areas and rural municipalities.
The initiative aims to improve the digital literacy of education and healthcare workers in the context of the active digitalization of public services, the introduction of electronic diaries, medical records, and databases.
The organizers note that teachers and healthcare workers work with large volumes of confidential information daily—the personal data of children, parents, and patients—which requires strict adherence to information security standards.
The program teaches participants the basics of cyber hygiene, internet safety, personal data protection, and information leak prevention. Particular attention is paid to liability for violating data protection requirements.
The program includes an overview of personal data legislation, setting up secure passwords and two-factor authentication, and practical case studies on recognizing online fraud, including phishing and social engineering.
The project is being implemented by the state agency jointly with the agency's Training Center, with the support of the Team Europe Initiative on Digital Connectivity in Central Asia and the Youth GO project.
