Bishkek, April 8, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s international passports are among the top ten in terms of quality and modernity worldwide, deputies of Parliament said following visit to the state-owned enterprise Uchkun JSC.
The visit of members of parliament was organized to demonstrate the enterprise’s production capabilities and quality standards.
Three years after Uchkun was transferred under the Presidential Property Management Department, the country has established domestic production of driver’s licenses, national ID cards, international passports, and vehicle registration certificates, First Deputy Head of the Department Boobek Salimzhanov said during the visit.
“We organized this tour so that deputies could see firsthand the conditions under which the enterprise operates and the products manufactured here. It is important for us that they assess the quality of domestic production directly,” Salimzhanov noted.
Member of parliament Baktiyar Kalpaev said the new driver’s licenses include 34 security features and fully comply with the requirements of the Vienna Convention.
“We were presented with licenses that meet all international standards. It was also noted that Kyrgyzstan’s international passports are among the top ten in terms of quality and modernity worldwide. This is a significant achievement for the country.
In addition to identity documents, the enterprise also produces textbooks and state excise stamps," he said.
