Kyrgyzstan, Rosatom agree to cooperate in production of lithium-ion batteries

Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2025 /Kabar/. Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rosatom's Fuel Division, Energy Solutions Kyrgyzstan LLC, and Elbrus Construction Company LLC signed an agreement on cooperation in the production of lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems in Moscow on September 25, at the World Atomic Week (WAW – 2025) international forum.

According to Rosatom's press service, the signing of the document marks the beginning of the partners' joint work to implement promising energy projects and establish high-tech manufacturing facilities in Kyrgyzstan.

The agreement will include an analysis of the lithium-ion battery and energy storage system market in Kyrgyzstan, an assessment of the potential for localizing their production, and a search for promising projects for the implementation of energy storage systems.

"Our company, as a manufacturer of lithium-ion cells and energy storage systems, is interested in developing new markets and expanding its network of international partners. We see significant potential in Kyrgyzstan and hope that our cooperation will contribute to the technological development of the region and provide it with reliable and environmentally friendly energy solutions," noted Anastasia Mikhailova, Director of the Energy Storage Systems Business Unit of Rosatom's Fuel Division.
