Kyrgyzstan starts planting new apricot and cherry varieties in its Kadamjai region

Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Planting of new apricot and cherry varieties has begun in Kyzyl-Kyshtak village in Kadamjay region of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, new apricot varieties, Mikado and Jebasreda, have been planted on 6.5 hectares of newly developed land. These early-ripening (April 25-30) and transportable varieties have been planted, with a three-year yield of 8 tons per hectare. Also, on an area of ​​6.5 hectares, new cherry varieties Grace and Svid Arina were planted, yielding a yield of 10 tons per hectare in 5 years.
