Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2026 /Kabar/. A logistics and transport center of Kyrgyzstan will be built in Xi'an. Hou Song Tao, the general director of the Kyrgyz-Chinese joint venture "Kyrgyz Trans Invest" from Chinese side reports.
According to him, negotiations are currently underway with the Xi'an city government.
For this, Kyrgyzstan is purchasing a 9-hectare land plot in the city.
“This route will be opened even before the Kyrgyzstan-China-Uzbekistan railway, which is currently under construction. It will allow for multimodal freight transportation by rail from Xi'an to Kashgar.
In addition, 30 trucks are being prepared. They will transport cargo from Kashgar to Osh, that is, to the southern railway terminal. In other words, these vehicles will provide freight transportation between two hubs - the Kyrgyz and Chinese hubs.
Then the cargo will be sent by rail to Osh. The creation of this company and the construction of a railway terminal in Xi'an will open up new opportunities for Kyrgyzstan. This will allow for the implementation of routes, increase the volume of freight transportation and, accordingly, increase the income of the railway industry even before the official launch of the railway,” he noted.
