Bishkek, June 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Young Kyrgyz women could become part of a new international K-pop group. Representatives of the international project "Click the Star - Central Asia" announced at press conference in Kabar news agency.
According to Asel Koylubaeva, a representative of the Click the Star project in Kyrgyzstan, a large-scale casting for the new musical project from the K-pop Center will begin in August. Renowned South Korean musicians and choreographers will evaluate the candidates.
"Girls aged 16 to 22 from all regions of Kyrgyzstan are eligible to participate in the selection process. The competition will be held in two stages: first, participants will be evaluated online, and then the best will be invited to offline auditions. The next stage for the finalists will be a trip to Seoul, where they will undergo professional training and prepare for their debut," she said.
As World K-pop Center Deputy Director Yoo Dong Min explained, the main selection criteria will be vocal and dance skills, as well as teamwork. He added that this project is being conducted in 32 countries, and the organizers will pay special attention to the unique characteristics of each country when selecting the finalists. Similar selections have previously been successfully held in Peru and China.
"Based on the final selection, the organizers will select two participants each from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. These six girls will form a K-pop girl group. They will have the opportunity to become famous worldwide. The Central Asian group will be called BLINGONE," said Yu Dong Min.
"The entire selection process will be broadcast on South Korean television channels and major YouTube platforms, and a series of documentaries will be made about the auditions themselves," the organizers emphasized.
World K-pop Center is a leading educational and cultural center in Seoul, specializing in the training of future idols. The center offers comprehensive training programs in vocals, rap, and choreography. It is at this center that the global Click the Star project is being implemented. It hosts international auditions across the globe, including in Central Asia, with the goal of discovering bright talent and creating new international pop groups.
