Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2025. /Kabar/. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) has begun financing a project to build a modern and eco-friendly "TES Hotel" in Osh.
According to the fund, the project envisages the construction of a three-storey extension to the existing building, which will increase the number of rooms to 43, as well as the introduction of advanced green technologies.
A special feature of the hotel will be the use of geothermal energy for heating and hot water supply, as well as the installation of solar panels on the roof to generate electricity. These measures will significantly reduce the impact on the environment and create an environmentally friendly accommodation facility.
The hotel is located in the historical part of Osh, next to Mount Sulaiman-Too - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as other key attractions, which makes TES Hotel attractive to tourists from all over the world.
"According to the statistics of the international CountryCasa rating, Kyrgyzstan ranks first in terms of tourist influx in Central Asia. These indicators were achieved thanks to the efforts of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to develop tourism infrastructure. Today we signed an agreement to finance the construction of the first green hotel in the southern regions of the republic. I am confident that the trend towards creating eco-friendly tourist facilities will grow in our country, contributing to the sustainable development of the industry and the economy as a whole," said Chairman of the Board Artem Novikov.
The cost of the project is about 1 million US dollars, 70% of which is financed by the RKDF.
The fund will continue to support projects aimed at developing tourism in Kyrgyzstan, creating new jobs and improving the standard of living of the local population, the report said.
