Bishkek, June 29, 2026. /Kabar/. The ministry's task is to pass green Kyrgyzstan to the next generation, Akyl Toktobaev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan told media as part of the Open Cabinet project.
According to him, since the adoption of the "Zhashyl Muras" initiative, the country has begun planting 6 million trees, and by 2026, 9 million trees are planned.
"About 80% have already been planted, which is about 6 million, the rest will be planted in the fall," the minister said.
The head of the department noted that a tree survival rate of approximately 80% is considered a good indicator, taking into account various factors.
According to Toktobaev, this task falls not only to the department but also to local governments and the forestry service. The ministry monitors the plan's implementation in each region and requires fencing, drip irrigation, and planting methods.
Furthermore, the minister announced that the "Zhashyl Muras" initiative is planned to be transferred to online format.
"We plan to have a digital platform where everyone will be able to see the planting work in real time," he noted.
