Kyrgyzstan to strengthen protection of citizens' labor rights

Bishkek, July 8, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek discussed developing cooperation within the International Labor Organization (ILO), strengthening social partnership, protecting labor rights and the legitimate interests of workers, promoting decent work principles, and implementing international labor standards in Kyrgyzstan.

Muradil Jumadilde uulu, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan, and Sergius Glovackas, head of the Europe and Central Asia section of ILO Bureau for workers' activities, with Kamchybek Dosmatov, First Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration held working meeting.

According to the relevant department, Sergius Glovackas noted that the International Labour Organization highly values ​​cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and is ready to continue supporting initiatives aimed at developing social dialogue, strengthening trade unions, and ensuring decent working conditions. He emphasized that effective interaction between states, trade unions, and employers is a vital foundation for sustainable development in the world of work.

In turn, Muradil Jumadilde uulu emphasized that protecting labor rights and the socioeconomic interests of workers remains top priority for trade unions. He noted that joint work with the ILO and the Ministry of Labor will improve the effectiveness of programs aimed at protecting workers and improving social partnership.

During the meeting, Kamchybek Dosmatov emphasized that the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan is implementing a policy to improve labor legislation, ensure safe working conditions, and develop constructive social dialogue. He expressed his readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the ILO and the Federation of Trade Unions in the interests of protecting workers' rights and promoting the principles of decent work. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue working together to develop social partnership, improve mechanisms for protecting citizens' labor rights, and implement international labor standards in Kyrgyzstan.
