Bishkek, May 6, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is strengthening measures to prevent domestic violence and family conflicts.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, prevention efforts in this area are aimed at protecting the rights of every family member and preventing the escalation of conflicts.
"First and foremost, it is important to foster intolerance in society toward any form of violence—physical, psychological, and economic. Conflicts must be resolved through dialogue, respect, and mutual understanding.
Informing citizens about the legal penalties for committing domestic violence, as well as about assistance options—from law enforcement agencies, crisis centers, and social services—plays a special role.
Seeking help promptly can prevent conflict escalation and maintain safety. It is important not to ignore the problem or be left alone with it.
Also important is working with at-risk families, conducting preventative discussions, and providing psychological and social support," the ministry's statement says.
