Bishkek, June 22, 2026 /Kabar/. The environmental festival "Snow Leopard EcoFest Chon-Kemin 2026" will take place on July 11 at 9:30 AM in Chon-Kemin Valley, in Shabdan village, on the grounds of the hippodrome. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Technical Supervision announced.
According to the ministry, this year's festival theme is "Snow Leopard: Environmental Education – the Foundation for a Sustainable Future for Kyrgyzstan."
The festival aims to raise environmental awareness, develop eco-education, promote sustainable nature tourism, and draw public attention to the conservation of the snow leopard—the national symbol of Kyrgyzstan.
The festival is organized by the Ilbirs—Green Generation Public Foundation and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, the Secretariat of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Program, and local governments.
The festival will feature performances by the winners of the student competitions "Snow Leopard Youth - Protecting Nature" and "BARS FASHION 2026 - Best Snow Leopard Costume," as well as a prize presentation to participants.
The festival will feature parallel themed zones, including eco-product exhibitions, a snow leopard art zone, a painting and photography exhibition, a children's drawing competition, ecology and ethnic workshops, an archery zone, a Kurosh wrestling zone, a Snow Leopard Jump competition, a stunt show, a Taigan show, and other activities.
