Bishkek, June 10, 2026. /Kabar/. According to the Minister of Transport and Communications Talantbek Soltobaev, road construction work is underway in the country at high pace this year as well.

According to him, the plan to build and repair 1,500 kilometers of roads across the country in 2025 has been fully implemented. The same amount of work is planned for this year, and is currently ahead of schedule.

“To date, 367 kilometers of roads have been paved with asphalt. The goal is to increase this figure to 470 kilometers by the end of the second quarter,” Soltobaev said.

The minister also touched upon the seasonal characteristics of road construction. According to him, for high-quality asphalt paving, the air temperature must be at least +10 degrees Celsius. Because of this, asphalt concrete plants do not work at full capacity in winter and early spring, and repair of potholes on the roads is delayed. In this case, cold asphalt technology is used to temporarily solve such problems.

“Cold asphalt is prepared in advance and stored in special vacuum bags. It allows you to quickly repair potholes on the road in cold weather. Previously, we bought such materials from abroad. We can also produce them ourselves. Only the necessary additional materials for its production will have to be imported from abroad,” the minister noted.
