Bishkek, June 3, 2026 /Kabar/. Osh City Hall jointly with UNDP and with financial support from the Russian Federation, opened youth center in Osh. UNDP in Kyrgyzstan informs.
The center is designed to accommodate more than 120,000 young residents of the city.
The opening ceremony was attended by Osh Mayor Zhanarbek Akaev, Russian Consul General in Osh Roman Svistin, and UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Alexandra Solovyova.
The new center will serve as a platform for training, professional development, youth initiatives, and youth engagement with local government. It will host language courses, educational and leadership programs, as well as skills development and exam preparation training.
The building's total floor area exceeds 1,000 square meters. Osh City Hall constructed the new building, investing approximately $435,000 from the municipal budget. The project, funded by the Russian Federation, contributed over $132,000 and was used for interior finishing, IT equipment, and furniture. The total investment amounts about $525,000.
According to Zhanarbek Akaev, the center was created to provide young people with opportunities to develop skills, implement their ideas, and actively participate in the city's public life.
UNDP representatives noted that such initiatives contribute to the expansion of economic opportunities for youth, the development of entrepreneurship, and the strengthening of social cohesion in the regions.
