Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2025. /Kabar/. On September 24, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state signed the UN Distinguished Visitors' Book before the meeting.
Welcoming Sadyr Zhaparov, António Guterres expressed satisfaction with the meeting and noted Kyrgyzstan's rapid development, emphasizing the country's role in ensuring peace and stability in Central Asia.
In turn, President Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated the Secretary-General and the staff of the Organization on its 80th anniversary.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, as a full member of the UN, remains committed to the goals and principles enshrined in the Charter and is committed to actively engaging with the international community in addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, conflict, and inequality.
The President also invited António Guterres to participate in the SCO+ summit, which will be held in Bishkek in the fall of 2026 as part of Kyrgyzstan's SCO Presidency.
The Secretary-General thanked him for the invitation and expressed his readiness to participate in the event.
In conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening their partnership and joint efforts to ensure peace, stability, sustainable development, and the protection of human rights.
