Bishkek, May 15, 2026. /Kabar/. The meeting of the Strategic Coordination Committee for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023-2027 was held in Bishkek.

The event was attended by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Antje Grawe, UN Resident Coordinator in Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of government agencies and UN agencies.

The chairman noted that the Cabinet of Ministers and the UN system are actively working on the country's sustainable development, and the Framework Program is one of the key instruments of interaction between our parties.

"The country's economic development has demonstrated steady growth. Over the past four years, the average annual economic growth rate was 10.2%. In 2025, the GDP growth rate was 11.1%. In the first quarter of 2026, the economic growth rate was 10.1%. High economic activity allows us to purposefully improve the standard of living of the population, in particular by creating new jobs, increasing public sector wages, pensions, and benefits, and implementing government programs. Achieving and maintaining high economic indicators is essential for improving the well-being of the population. "In this regard, we need the support of our international development partners, including the UN system," he said, expressing his readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the UN.

UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Antje Grawe, in turn, noted that the Strategic Coordination Committee is designed to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and their alignment with the country's development needs.

"The UN remains committed to supporting Kyrgyzstan in transforming economic growth into improved living standards, strengthening resilience, and expanding equal opportunities for women, youth, and vulnerable groups," said Antje Grawe.

The meeting reviewed the results of UN projects in Kyrgyzstan and medium-term plans aimed at the country's socioeconomic development. Representatives of several government bodies and UN agencies delivered presentations.
