Spring of Francophonie 2026 festival held in Osh

Bishkek, March 30, 2026. /Kabar/. The "Spring of Francophonie - 2026" festival was held in Osh city.

According to city administration, the event was attended by the Swiss Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Siroko Messerli, the French Ambassador, Nicolas Faye, and representatives of local authorities.

As part of the festival, the Alexandre Dumas Center for French Language and Culture was opened at Osh State University. Furthermore, a concert by French pianist Christine Vonlupt was held at the Babur Theater, and the Swiss film "Bon Jour, Ticino" was shown.

Conferences on the history of art and opportunities for studying in France were also organized.

The sports portion of the program included an international rugby tournament, featuring women's teams from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

"Annual Francophonie events are held throughout Kyrgyzstan from March 25 to April 12. This year's program includes educational, cultural, and entertainment events celebrating the diversity of the French language and the creative potential of the cultures of the Francophone countries," the press release states.
