Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2025 /Kabar/. During their official visit to Belarus, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin made a statement to the media.

Dear Alexander,

Dear representatives of the media,

Ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the invitation to visit the Republic of Belarus on an official visit, which is taking place in the Hero City of Minsk.

Special thanks to honorable Alexander Turchin and his team, and to the fraternal Belarusian people for their traditional hospitality and the excellent organization of the visit.

The agenda of today's talks was very intense.

Thanks to the determination and political will of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, and the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz-Belarusian cooperation has received a powerful new impetus. Prime Minister and I held substantive talks in both narrow and expanded formats. We discussed the full range of bilateral issues, identified prospects, and agreed on specific plans and activities.

The Kyrgyz side is fully prepared to work together in all areas – from economics and industrial cooperation to science, culture, and regional ties. I am confident that our countries have all the necessary prerequisites to take our relationship to new heights. Particular attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation during the talks. In recent years, we have seen steady growth in mutual trade. We have begun implementing our shared goal of increasing trade turnover to $500 million over the next five years. We agreed to launch new projects in the near future. Industrial cooperation is a key area. We see significant potential in joint product assembly and localization, technology exchange, and the creation of a fully integrated value chain. Cultural and humanitarian cooperation is at the core of our relations. In recent years, bilateral cooperation in culture and the arts has noticeably intensified. This was vividly demonstrated by the Days of Kyrgyz Culture in Belarus last year and the performances of our artists at the Slavianski Bazaar International Arts Festival in Vitebsk. We are sincerely pleased by the Belarusian audience's continued interest in the works of the great humanist, Kyrgyz and Soviet writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. His ideas on human dignity and societal responsibility are particularly relevant today. We also attach great importance to joint events commemorating the eightieth anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The memory of our peoples' heroism is a solid foundation for mutual respect and trust. We look forward to the participation of the national delegation of the Republic of Belarus in the Sixth World Nomad Games, scheduled for September 2026. This is not only a sporting event but also a global cultural event, a unique opportunity to showcase the strength of traditions and the modern dynamism of our countries. Cultural ties are strengthened by cooperation in education and science. Given the high quality of Belarusian higher education, we are interested in increasing the number of our students. Currently, approximately 200 Kyrgyz citizens are studying at Belarusian universities, who will one day become bridges of friendship between our countries. Academic scholarships are exchanged, and joint scientific research is being conducted.

We particularly welcome the signing of the Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which will intensify interaction between the national academies of sciences, expand scientific training, and provide advanced training and internships for young scientists at the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

We also see tourism as a promising area. Kyrgyzstan invites its Belarusian friends to discover our mountains and lakes, ecotourism routes, and sports recreation. In turn, we are ready to promote Belarusian tourism opportunities to our citizens. Much depends on direct contacts between tour operators, convenient routes, and modern digital advertising. Interregional cooperation is another important asset. We agreed to expand sister-city ties between the regions and cities of our countries.

Dear colleagues,

A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of a substantial package of bilateral documents, which took place literally in front of you. These documents cover the economy, physical education and sports, environmental protection, forensic examination, digital technologies, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, interaction between justice agencies, as well as interdepartmental and interregional ties. I am confident that the adopted documents will significantly expand the legal framework, increase the effectiveness of interdepartmental cooperation, and bring tangible benefits to our peoples. The esteemed Alexander Genrikhovich and I share a pragmatic approach, where success is measured by concrete results. Therefore, we are already seeing the outlines of a roadmap—with benchmarks for deadlines, responsible parties, and target indicators.

Dear friends, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus are united by close cultural ties, a shared history, and a truly friendly relationship. I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will quickly transform our agreements into tangible projects. I hope that we will witness the first results of our joint efforts very soon. I would like to once again thank our Belarusian friends for the warm welcome and fruitful work.

In conclusion, it is with great pleasure that I invite my dear friend, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, dear Alexander, to pay a return visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in the near future, Head of Cabinet of Ministers said.
