Street, monument, and museum dedicated to Kazakh poet opened in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2025 /Kabar/. The official opening ceremony of a street, monument, and museum dedicated to the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbai uulu took place in Osh city of Kyrgyzstan. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Askaraly Madaminov, Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva, Mayor of Osh Zhenishbek Toktorbayev, and representatives of diplomatic missions and the creative intelligentsia.

Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva expressed her sincere gratitude for the implementation of this initiative, emphasizing its importance in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

During the ceremony, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mayor of Osh Zhenishbek Toktorbayev was awarded the Order of Dostyk, 2nd class, for his contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the fraternal peoples.

Furthermore, as part of her visit, Aida Balayeva visited one of the largest museum complexes in Kyrgyzstan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site—the Sulaiman-Too National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex.
