Bishkek, April 1, 2026 /Kabar/. Ulaanbaatar plans to rename a street in honor of Manas, the Bishkek Mayor’s Office reported.

Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev met with Mongolian Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Sodnom Gankhuyag at the municipality.

During the visit, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Mongolian cooperation at the municipal level, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements.

In turn, Sodnom Gankhuyag noted that Bishkek has been developing rapidly over the past two years and wished the city continued success in implementing planned projects.

He also announced plans to rename a street in Ulaanbaatar in honor of Manas.

It is noted that Mongolia is an important partner of the Kyrgyz Republic, and cooperation between Bishkek and Ulaanbaatar is developing within the framework of inter-municipal cooperation.

The names of streets and alleys in the capital, including Damdin Sukhbaatar Street, as well as Mongol and Darkhan Alleys, are evidence of the historical and cultural affinity between the two countries.
