Bishkek, Feb. 17, 2026. /Kabar/. A large petroglyph stone was discovered on the western side of Otmok Pass in Talas region, ecologist Gamal Soronkulov told Kabar.

The ecologist said that he was currently in the area where the petroglyph was found. According to him, this is a very important find and the petroglyph stone is well preserved.

"I heard that there are petroglyphs above the village of Taldy-Bulak, so I came here specifically to look for them. Here I found a petroglyph. It is a very beautiful petroglyph. Although it is small, it is very important, and the quality is very good. It is clear that the stone is very ancient. It depicts a man with a bow and arrow leading a large goat and a moose. There were other images engraved on the stone, but they have faded and are not very visible. The three images above are very beautiful. So, they depict hunting. A hunter leading a taiga is hunting a goat with a bow and arrow," he said.

As he noted, this indicates that there has been life in the Talas valley since ancient times before our era. "Therefore, there is saying, 'history begins in Talas,'" Soronkulov said.
