Zhaparov and Putin discuss Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation

Bishkek, April 24, 2026 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 23, as part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The two leaders discussed Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, with particular attention paid to deepening trade and economic cooperation. The implementation of previously reached agreements was also reviewed.

The parties compared positions on regional issues and multilateral cooperation.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and invited Vladimir Putin to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, which will be held in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1 this year.

The Russian president thanked him for the invitation, reaffirming Russia's commitment to active interaction within integration associations, as well as its readiness to further enhance coordination and practical cooperation in key areas of their work.

Following the talks, the leaders expressed their mutual commitment to adding momentum to Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation and consistently advancing joint initiatives in all areas of collaboration.
