100% of shares of Kumtor Operating Company transferred to Kumtor Gold Company

Bishkek, May 26, 2026. /Kabar/. 100% of the shares of Kumtor Operating Company, a closed joint-stock company, have been transferred to Kumtor Gold Company CJSC.

According to the company's press service, the redistribution of assets within the holding company will allow for the efficient management of the subsidiary's current projects. Specifically, this involves accelerating the development of the Togolok gold deposit and geological exploration of the Dzhangart area.

Previously, the sole shareholder was Kyrgyzaltyn Open Joint-Stock Company.

The Togolok gold deposit, discovered in 1978, is located in a remote, high-altitude area in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region.

Full-scale mining operations began at the Togolok deposit this year. The first ore is expected to be extracted in 2026. Concurrently, drilling is underway at the promising Jangartskaya area, totaling over 16,000 meters.

The Togolok deposit development, planned for 10-15 years, will be carried out in two stages. According to the protocol, 19,928.5 kg of gold have been deposited with the State Commission on Mineral Reserves of the Kyrgyz Republic.
