Bishkek, April 21, 2025. /Kabar/. According to the results of January-March 2025, Kyrgyzstan produced gross agricultural output worth 41.9 billion soms.
According to data of the National Statistics Committee, the real growth rate compared to the same period in 2024 was 102.5%.
The main growth was achieved due to an increase in livestock production. Egg production increased by 9.6%, milk - by 1.2%, meat - by 2.7%.
At the same time active spring field work continues in the republic, covering the Batken, Osh, Chui and Jalal-Abad regions. The total area of sowing work was 156.6 thousand hectares.
Winter and spring wheat was sown on 46.9 thousand hectares, or 45.6% of the plan. Compared to last year, the area has increased by 8.8 thousand hectares. The highest rates were recorded in the Chui region, where the plan was fulfilled at 90.5%.
Spring barley was sown on 92.5 thousand hectares, or 38.3% of the planned volume. This is 29.5 thousand hectares more than a year earlier.
Corn sowing has begun in the Jalal-Abad and Osh regions. To date, 8.3 thousand hectares have been sown, which is 4.7 thousand hectares more than last year.
Potatoes have been planted on 4.5 thousand hectares (plus 1.7 thousand hectares compared to last year).
Vegetable and melon planting has begun in Osh and Jalal-Abad regions. The area has already exceeded 4 thousand hectares.
Financing of the agricultural sector continues
Agricultural production provided 0.1 percentage points of GDP growth, and its share in the structure of the economy was 4.2%.
