Bishkek, April 9, 2026 /Kabar/. First Deputy Mayor Kubanychbek Imanaliev receives delegation from the St. Petersburg government, led by Yevgeny Kassyura, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on External Relations.
According to the municipality, during the meeting, the parties emphasized the historical significance of the partnership between Bishkek and St. Petersburg, as well as their sustainable development and mutual interest in further expanding cooperation.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the cities, including updating and further implementing the Roadmap Action Plan in key areas of cooperation.
Yevgeny Kassyura expressed gratitude to the Bishkek mayor's office for the invitation to participate in the Nariste International Children's Folklore Festival, noting the high level of organization of the event and its importance for strengthening cultural ties.
In turn, the First Deputy Mayor emphasized the municipality's readiness to further develop the partnership, including sharing experiences in urban management, public amenities, and housing and utilities, including the modernization of building facades. The parties paid special attention to prospects for cooperation in tourism.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed confidence in the further deepening of bilateral cooperation aimed at effectively addressing pressing urban development challenges and improving the quality of life of the population.
For reference: The partnership between the cities of Bishkek and St. Petersburg was established on November 24, 2015. On November 4, 2022, an Action Plan ("Roadmap") for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation was signed in Bishkek between the Bishkek mayor's office and the Government of St. Petersburg.
