Bishkek hosts International conference on combating cybercrime

Bishkek, April 23, 2026 /Kabar/. On April 23, the Republican Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held international scientific and practical conference in Bishkek on "Combating Crimes Committed in the Sphere of Information and Telecommunication Technologies in the Kyrgyz Republic."

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the event was attended by Vladimir Gusev, Deputy Head of the Omsk Academy of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs; Dmitry Lakhtikov, Deputy Head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus; representatives of Kyrgyz government agencies; officers from operational and investigative units of law enforcement agencies; representatives of the expert community; and international OSCE specialists.

The conference was opened by Bakyt Dubanaev, head of the Republican Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

The conference discussed current issues in combating crimes in the field of information and telecommunications technology. They also paid attenting to improving activities in this area based on international experience, enhancing the professional training of specialists, and strengthening interagency cooperation.

Following the conference, the participants developed a number of proposals to strengthen the fight against crime in the field of information technology, develop international cooperation, and continue the exchange of practical experience.
