Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2026 /Kabar/. An international practical conference titled “ABA of the 21st Century: Life Skills, Individuality, Values” will take place in Bishkek on February 21, focusing on autism spectrum disorders (ASD), advanced intervention methods, family support and the development of an inclusive society.

Autism remains one of the most pressing issues in modern medicine and education. According to international studies, the number of children diagnosed with ASD continues to grow, increasing the importance of early detection, professional support and social adaptation. Kyrgyzstan does not yet maintain official statistics on early autism diagnosis, but practitioners report a steady rise in ASD cases among children.

The conference aims to provide a platform for open dialogue among specialists and stakeholders interested in evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods and in creating accessible, supportive environments for individuals with autism. Particular attention will be given to interdisciplinary cooperation and practical experience in modern ABA therapy, including the development of life skills, consideration of cultural context, family values and the child’s individuality.

Around 50 correctional, educational and developmental centers in Bishkek currently work with children experiencing developmental delays. The conference is intended, among other objectives, to strengthen cooperation among interdisciplinary professionals to improve the quality of assistance provided to children with ASD.

The event has a practical focus and will be relevant for ABA specialists, supervisors, teachers, physicians, speech therapists, special education professionals, managers of children’s centers and parents — anyone working with children with special developmental needs and relying on scientifically grounded methods.

Leading international and national experts in medicine, psychology and education are expected to participate. The conference headliner is Daria Lee-Romanova, Clinical Psychologist and BCBA-certified supervisor (Hong Kong). Experts from Russia have also been invited. National expertise will be represented by specialists with extensive practical experience working with children with special needs.

The program includes keynote presentations, a panel discussion and an exchange of views on the challenges faced by families and professionals. The organizers have also launched a charity initiative to provide free participation for parents of children with ASD.

The conference highlights the importance of public awareness of autism and the need for joint efforts to build an inclusive society in which every individual has the right to understanding, support and the opportunity to realize their potential.
