On the eve of March 8 - International Women's Day, there is a traditional seasonal increase in the import of flowers. The main part of them is transported by air.

In February, there is a high demand for roses, carnations, orchids, chrysanthemums and lilies. Roses traditionally take the lead. 3.5 million roses were imported on the eve of the holiday.

Before reaching the trading posts, their accompanying documents and compliance with the transportation conditions are checked.

According to Ruslan Aitbaev, senior inspector of the Manas customs, flowers are released first among other goods.

“Since the temperature of the flowers must be maintained at a constant level, their documents are also checked without a queue. They are also immediately loaded into vehicles and sent to trading posts,” he said.

Currently, the Tulip Festival is being held in Bishkek. Various varieties of tulips are presented there, and flowers are sold starting from 75 soms.

The festival aims to develop floriculture, promote new varieties, and directly connect producers and consumers.
