Bishkek, June 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev inspected the reconstruction of Manas International Airport.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the chairman briefed on the ongoing modernization of the airport's infrastructure, which is aimed at improving flight safety, expanding the country's transportation capabilities, and strengthening position in the international aviation market.
As part of the reconstruction of the airport complex, the terminal is being expanded by 20,000 square meters. Upon completion of all construction phases, the total terminal area will be approximately 60,000 square meters. The new terminal is expected to significantly increase the airport's capacity, improve the quality of passenger service, and bring the infrastructure in line with international standards.
Furthermore, the airport has already completed a major overhaul of the runway and installed a modern CAT III lighting system, which ensures flight operations even in dense fog and limited visibility. Construction of a covered parking garage and a new access road to the airport is also ongoing.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the new transport infrastructure will increase the hub's capacity, improve traffic safety, and provide more convenient passenger access to the terminal. A covered pedestrian walkway is planned between the parking garage and the airport terminal. Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of timely and high-quality completion of all construction work. He noted that Kyrgyzstan's removal from the list of air carriers banned from flying to European Union countries opens new opportunities for the development of the country's aviation industry.
