Bishkek, April 28, 2026. /Kabar/. Chakan OJSC is implementing the Lebedinovka HPP reconstruction project, Ministry of Energy reports.
The financing of the project is provided by loan and grant funds. In particular, relevant agreements have been signed with the Ministry of Finance and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The total cost of the project is 13.8 million euros, including 8.8 million euros in loan funds and 5 million euros in grants. As a result of the tender procedures, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation was selected as the general contractor. Currently, topographic surveying and engineering surveys have been completed, and design and research work is underway.
In addition, Chakan HPP OJSC is implementing the KRED project, which includes the construction of Tar HPP and the reconstruction of the Bystrovka HPP. Last year, Qing Yuan Engineering Consultants Ltd. signed agreement to provide consulting services to develop a feasibility study for the project. In January 2026, representatives of the above-mentioned company and specialists from Chakan HPP OJSC made a joint working visit to the sites of the facilities.
Recall that for the implementation of the KRED project, the World Bank allocated $ 43.2 million to Kyrgyzstan on concessional terms.
