Bishkek, June 18, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov met with the heads of the central law enforcement departments of the CIS countries.
According to the department, the meeting took place within the framework of the VI meeting of the heads of the central departments of the internal affairs bodies of the member states of the Commonwealth.
The event was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Bureau for Coordination of Combating Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes in the Commonwealth and the CIS Executive Committee.
In his speech, Ulan Niyazbekov noted the special role of central departments in ensuring public security and law and order. He noted that currently, capitals are large centers of business, transport, financial flows and migration activity, where strategically important infrastructure is located and millions of people move daily.
"In addition, today, threats are becoming increasingly transnational and high-tech in nature. These include cybercrime, fraud, drug trafficking, illegal migration and extremism. Effective combating of such threats is impossible without international cooperation based on mutual trust, respect and joint efforts," the minister said.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of developing cooperation in the CIS space. Ulan Niyazbekov noted that the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states is an important platform for developing agreed approaches to ensuring security and law and order, as well as strengthening professional ties between law enforcement agencies.
At the end of the meeting, the minister thanked the participants of the Council for their high professionalism and dedication to their duties, wishing them success in their work, constructive dialogue, and the successful implementation of the planned initiatives.
