Direct air service may be established between Bishkek and Warsaw

Bishkek, May 23, 2026. /Kabar/. The day before, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov met with Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Wojciech Zajączkowski.

According to the Economy Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Kyrgyz-Polish cooperation, the intensification of trade and economic ties, and new areas of collaboration.

Akhmatov noted that Kyrgyzstan's average GDP growth has exceeded 10% over the past four years and spoke about the country's National Development Program until 2030.

Zajączkowski praised Kyrgyzstan's economic growth and stated that large Polish companies are interested in collaborating with Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation in green energy, agriculture, and mining, as well as the launch of a direct Warsaw-Bishkek-Warsaw flight.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify bilateral cooperation and resume the work of the intergovernmental commission.
