Bishkek, June 22, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's economic growth rate reached 12.2% in January-May 2026, compared to the previous year. These data are presented in the Eurasian Development Bank's macroeconomic review.

According to EDB analysts, the construction sector contributed the largest share of the key indicator's growth, +3.6%. "The impetus is being driven by the implementation of the state program 'My Home,' as well as the construction of socially significant facilities and the commissioning of several small hydroelectric power plants."

Two other important drivers are industrial growth (driven by increased production of primary metals) and rising consumer demand (domestic trade increased by 10.4% in January-May, amid a 9.9% increase in real wages).

EDB expects the economy to continue relying on domestic sources of growth by the end of 2026, with GDP growth forecast to be higher by 10%.
