Bishkek, June 2.06.26. /Kabar/. Eurasian Development Bank's weekly macroeconomic review says that analysts assessed the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan's decision to maintain the key rate at 12%.

EDB experts note that the regulator is using monetary policy tools to slow inflation, which will ensure macroeconomic stability and strengthen the national currency.

"At the same time, the overnight lending rate has been maintained at 14%, while the overnight deposit rate has been increased to 10% from 6%. This will stimulate a more rapid transition to savings behavior among households and businesses. We believe that monetary policy measures will contribute to a slowdown in inflation and its return to the target of 5-7%," the EDB review notes.
