Bishkek, May 13, 2026 /Kabar/. Eurasian Development Bank's weekly macroeconomic review notes a slight decline in remittances to Kyrgyzstan in January-February. The figure fell by 1.5% compared to the same period last year.
"The decline in remittances is due to the cooling of economic activity in Russia at the beginning of the year," analysts note.
Meanwhile, the EDB cites 2025 statistics and states that the average monthly annual growth exceeded 20%. "We expect the volume of incoming remittances to resume growth in the remaining months of 2026. This will support domestic demand in the Kyrgyz economy," the review states.
