Bishkek, June 8, 2026. /Kabar/. The official opening ceremony of EU Fest 2026 took place in Bishkek's Oak Park on June 6, according to the city administration.
Bishkek First Deputy Mayor Kubanychbek Imanaliev, speaking at the ceremony, noted that the European Festival is becoming a good tradition for Bishkek and contributes to the development of cultural dialogue, strengthening mutual understanding between peoples, and expanding international cooperation.
"Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening friendship between peoples, developing humanitarian ties, and fostering an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect," Kubanychbek Imanaliev emphasized.
This year's festival is held under the concept "Journey through Europe," reflecting the cultural and creative diversity of the European Union.
The event was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Kyrgyzstan, together with EU member states and partners.
The main goal of the festival is to strengthen friendly ties and mutual understanding between the European Union and Kyrgyzstan through art, education, gastronomy, and interactive cultural initiatives.
