FMs of Central Asian countries and Turkiye discuss new opportunities in region

Bishkek, April 19, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev participated in the Fifth Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkiye, where they discussed the global role of Central Asian countries.

According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the heads of delegations from Central Asian countries and Turkiye assessed the region's changing role on the global agenda, discussed its current advantages, opportunities for international cooperation, current security challenges and risks, as well as the state of intraregional relations and prospects for further integration. Participants also noted the growing international interest in Central Asia and the significant expansion of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including in the 5+1 format with foreign countries.

Jeenbek Kulubaev drew attention to the significant domestic achievements of Central Asian states in state-building, economic development, and regional diplomacy, which have contributed to strengthening political sovereignty, achieving tangible economic progress, and taking joint steps to ensure regional stability, including resolving border issues.

Furthermore, participants noted that, against the backdrop of a changing global environment, the strategic importance of Central Asia has significantly increased, driven by its growing market potential, abundant natural resources, developing transport and logistics links, and a dynamic young population. In this context, the region occupies a key position in shaping the future geopolitical and economic landscape. The special ties between the Central Asian countries and Turkiye, based on common cultural and historical factors, as well as the development of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, were separately emphasized.
