Bishkek, June 2, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in New York.
According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the ministers confirmed their readiness to further develop Kyrgyz-German cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. They emphasized the importance of maintaining an active political dialogue and agreed to hold reciprocal visits at various levels, which will contribute to strengthening ties between Kyrgyzstan and Germany.
Special attention was paid to key issues on the bilateral agenda, primarily enhancing cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Kulubaev expressed concern about the European Union's sanctions policy, emphasizing the risks unilateral restrictions pose to the socioeconomic stability of Central Asian countries.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, strictly adhering to its international obligations, maintains an open and constructive dialogue with the EU to jointly prevent sanctions circumvention. In this regard, Kyrgyzstan committed to an equal and trusting partnership, which, unlike sanctions, is a more effective tool for achieving common goals.
Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on international and regional issues and discussed further cooperation within international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, and the EU.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening collaboration within multilateral forums.
