Heads of government of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discuss prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, March 4, 2025. /Kabar/. In Dushanbe, as part of a working visit, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting in a narrow format with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda.

The Cabinet of Ministers said that Adylbek Kasymaliev, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, emphasized the priority of developing good-neighborly relations with the countries of Central Asia, including Tajikistan, within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He conveyed warm greetings from President Sadyr Zhaparov to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

During the constructive dialogue, the parties discussed in detail a wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the prospects for the development of trade and economic ties. In particular, the common goal of increasing trade turnover between the countries to 500 million US dollars by 2030 was emphasized.

The Kyrgyz side confirmed its readiness to act as an effective link for the supply of Tajik products to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market and expressed interest in studying Tajik experience in the field of processing agricultural products.

Considerable attention was paid to successful cooperation in the energy sector, and the importance of the speedy implementation of the CASA-1000 project was emphasized. The parties noted the need to resume direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as an important factor in enhancing bilateral ties.

In conclusion, the interlocutors confirmed their shared confidence in the further strengthening of mutually beneficial partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and also noted the special importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the need to support the dissemination of common cultural heritage among the younger generation.
