Bishkek, May 8, 2026. /Kabar/. Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry visited the Junda Oil Refinery of China Petroleum Company CJSC in Kara-Balta and held an on-site meeting to review the plant's modernization progress.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting addressed current issues related to the refinery's operations aimed at providing the domestic market with fuel and lubricants.
Erlist Akunbekov and representatives of relevant government agencies reviewed the refinery's current modernization stage and the readiness of its production facilities. Information was also provided on the implementation of an investment project to build an industrial park on the refinery's premises.
The importance of this project for the country's industrial development, increasing oil refining levels, and creating new jobs was noted. Following the meeting, a number of instructions were issued. Completion of the modernization work is planned for this year.
