Bishkek, March 12, 2026 /Kabar/. The opening of Kochkor station on the Balykchy-Kochkor railway is planned for Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day, Dastan Usubakunov, Deputy Director of the state-owned enterprise Kyrgyz Temir Zholu announced on Birinchi Radio.
"The bottom layer of the track has already been laid, now the top layer remains to be completed. As our President Sadyr Zhaparov noted, not a single meter of railway has been built in the last 30 years. We plan to open the Kochkor station on the Balykchy-Kochkor line by Independence Day. This can be considered a significant achievement for Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," he said.
