Bishkek, April 7, 2026. /Kabar/. Trade between Kyrgyzstan and Germany has increased 5-10-fold in recent years, Omurbek Tekebaev, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Germany, at meeting of the relevant committee of Jogorku Kenesh.
Speaking about the diplomatic mission's activities for the period 2022-2025, the Ambassador noted that Germany has recently revised its priorities regarding our country, which has led to a noticeable increase in both political and trade relations.
"While trade turnover in 2018 only $70-80 million, it has grown 5-10-fold in recent years. This is due to changes in the geopolitical situation and countries' priorities. According to our statistics, in 2023, it reached $429 million, while according to German data, it was $703 million. Since 2023, a 2.5-fold increase, or 250%, has been recorded. Recently, a slight decline in volumes has been observed, which may be related to changes in the sanctions regime," Tekebaev emphasized.
