Bishkek, June 12, 2026. /Kabar/. The use of transit opportunities was one of the most important discussions between the two countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev says.
According to him, although relations between the two countries have been developing steadily, high-level state visits have not been organized for many years.
“At the invitation of President Sadyr Zhaparov, Georgian Prime Minister is visiting Kyrgyzstan. Very fruitful talks were held on the development of political dialogue between the two countries, expansion of trade relations, and use of transit opportunities.
As is known, Georgia has large ports with access to the Black Sea. We are also very interested in accessing European countries through this sea and the Caucasus and developing trade.
Georgia is also interested in the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway that is being built in our country. After the completion of this project, the countries of the Caucasus, including Georgia, will have the opportunity to access China through us. Therefore, using transit opportunities was one of the most important negotiations between the two countries.
In addition, agreements were reached and a number of documents were signed in the fields of environmental protection, agriculture, tourism, and sports. Georgia’s domestic politics have calmed down, and we are experiencing a number of other developments. Therefore, I believe that the prospects for communication and relations between the two countries are great,” the foreign minister said.
President Sadyr Zhaparov and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met at Yntymak Ordo. This is the first official visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Kyrgyzstan since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
